Sky recognised for gender equality at 2016 WISE awards

Sky’s work in gender equality has been recognised again, this time as a top employer for women in technology at the 2016 WISE Awards .

The award was presented by HRH The Princess Royal who is the patron for WISE (Women in Science, Technology and Engineering), a charity that recognises the value women bring to the world of science and  engineering.

The awards ceremony was held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London last week. Anna Jones from Sky News hosted the event. 
 
The judges said of Sky:

"This company have amazing aspirations for their business and understand that gender balance is a business imperative. They have a dedicated resource looking for opportunities to drive change.  With an innovative perspective, they are an inspiring employer with a fresh and energetic approach."
 
Shivani Uberoi, Head of Women in Leadership, collected the award on Sky's behalf, saying: 

"Technology is an integral part of our business and with women representing half of our customer base, it’s important we have a workforce that can reflect and anticipate their needs and views. 

Attracting and progressing women in our technology areas is a key focus within our Women in leadership programme. Winning this award  further strengthens our brand as a great employer."
